USS Los Angeles Commemorative Plaque

The Commemorative Plaque shown below certified that the USS Los Angeles was sponsored and made possible by the war bond purchases of the people of the City and County of Los Angeles, July - 1943.  The location of the plaque aboard ship is unknown; if anybody knows where the plaque was mounted, please email the webmaster.

The plaque was salvaged from the USS Los Angeles following decommissioning in Nov. 1963 by Ltjg Kurt Visser, 4th Div.  The picture below was taken by the webmaster 5-23-2000 with the permission of Mrs Kurt Visser.  The plaque has now been donated to the Los Angeles Maritime Museum.
