Background of USS LA Relationship with LAMM

The Los Angeles Maritime Museum houses a significant collection of memorabilia and artifacts from USS Los Angeles CA-135.  While the collection started in the 1970s, items continue to be donated by shipmates that served on the LA.  The museum has set up a dedicated USS Los Angeles CA-135 section, thanks in part to monetary donations by the association and individual members.  Some of the museum's USS LA CA-135 items can be seen at: CA135 Memorials

Mar. 2002:  Los Angeles Maritime Museum website adds a USS LA Collection section.

Nov. 2001:  Los Angeles Maritime Museum received a $1075 check from the USS LA CA-135 Association.  This check, along with several individual contributions, allowed the museum to provide display improvements for USS LA memorabilia.

Sept. 2001:  Shipmate Norm Booth donates his USS LA Memorabilia to LA Maritime Museum.  Norm's donation started an effort to improve the display of USS LA items at the museum.  The memorabilia can be seen at:  Norm Booth 2
